1. The whole Chlorella cell (sampled in the first image in this set) is shown in 3-dimensional reconstruction here. The connectedness of the mitochondrion is revealed, though it could not have been predicted from any one section. The single microbody (yellow) always lies against the chloroplast in the vicinity of the pyrenoid (the wall of the chloroplast has been cut away in the model and the exposed face of the pyrenoid painted brown).
