Project: Identifying new functions for flavonoids in higher plants

“The summer scholarships are definitely better than staying at home and working a summer job”, says Natalia who happily flew to the other side of Australia to gain this experience. Therese Jo

Project:
Effectiveness of new-generation Glaucoma-
diagnosing technologies

”Although the summer holiday may seem a big sacrifice it isn't really when you think about all the great new friends you will make and the invaluable experiences and memories that you will come away with when it's over. An opportunity like this doesn't come often enough, so if you happen to be fortunate enough to get the chance to come here, go for it and make the most of it”, Therese says.

Lisa Vlahos

Project: Visual control of eye growth
“You get to meet lots of other summer and research students during your time at the RSBS. You also get to see a different side to the ANU that you do not get to see as an undergraduate. Doing this summer scholarship has also helped me decide that I do want to have some sort of research career, rather than the usual Canberra choice of working in the public service”.

Gabrielle Lockett

Project: Honey bee neural mechanisms of reward processing

“Summer scholarships in general seem a good opportunity to keep one's mind on science over the holidays, but the ANU one stood out as offering so much - work at a prestigious university, not to mention free board, food and flights!”, Gabrielle says.
